I am so relieved; the wedding I was in is now over, and I now feel as though I can relax a bit. Everything seemed to go smoothly and happily, so all is right with the world in that department.

This hasn't been a great year for butterflies out here on the mid-Atlantic coast, but we've seen a few monarchs in our backyard the last couple of days. Yay! Maybe we'll even get some caterpillers on our milkweed in the garden. I'm saving my 5.5 gallon aquarium in case that should happen.

I've always had strange recurring dreams. For instance, along with the standard flying dreams, breaking teeth dreams, and dinosaur dreams (those are all standard, right?), I would very frequently dream about setting up a glass aquarium to house, say, a single frog or gecko, only to have the critters inside multiply like mad so that one aquarium would have three different species of frogs and lizards all in the same tank. Now, I have not had a single one of these dreams in the last two-and-a-half years since finally getting my tank with Shorty in it (my oriental fire-bellied toad). It's as though my subconscious was telling me at night how very much I wanted a terrarium, and would you get one please so that I may dream of other things? This is all fine and good...
... except that now I've been dreaming about bird cages. And these bird cages start out hosting a single pair of maybe zebra finches or something like that... and then lovebirds, parakeets, and cockatiels. This is crazy! I can't have birds while living in my parents' house. The noise, the mess, the cats who would go ballistic... Why couldn't I just dream about fish this time? Maybe some neon tetras or something... Gah.

Holy mackerel, I love summer. I've gone back to reading books - real, honest-to-goodness books again! Granted, they're Star Wars novels, but it feels like years since I've read anything straight through, and it's a fantastic feeling. Plus, hey, it's Star Wars. Action-Adventure, yay!

I've got a list of things I should be doing, but to that I say, "bah!" It's time to raid the Hershey kisses. :-D
