So! It's the holiday known as the Super Bowl here, and we're gearing up (with food, of course) for the various extended family members who will be celebrating in our house. My parents are both Pittsburgh Steelers fans, so I guess it's a Big Deal. Football's really not my thing (too many commercials for my taste), but my cousin who supplies me with comic books is coming over, so maybe I can steal him for a while to show off my Serenity comics.

But what I'm more excited for is tomorrow. I'll be up early for a long work day, but the payoff is going to be oh-so-good. Of course, Heroes volume four is going to premiere, and that's going to be all kinds of awesome, but there's also Chuck! I love that show to itty bitty bits. It doesn't even matter that it's going to be in 3D, but it's going to be cool to see like that, anyway. My family picked up 12 3D glasses from ShopRite yesterday, so we're going to be set!

I was on imdb the other day, and there were all of these negative reviews for Chuck, and I was like, what? Really? How can you not love a show that's funny, has plenty of action/adventure, adorable characters, and an on-going storyline that isn't so deep in mythology that if you miss an episode, you're not going to be totally lost when you pick it back up again? ::raspberries:: :D

Sounds like fun! We're just chilling here - I'll probably be doing laundry while it's on, lol.

And I'm caught up with Chuck! I'd actually seen more episodes than I thought I had. That part with Sarah at the end of the last episode is really :O - I'm looking forward to the fallout from that. (And I wouldn't take anything on imdb seriously - imbd commenters are famed throughout the internets as being even stupider than youtube commenters, which really shouldn't be possible.)

And EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HEROES!

Yay! I'm glad you saw the latest episode. Poor Chuck! :( And, poor Morgan, too. Awww.

Did you guys get 3D glasses, too? :D?

Sadly, no. :( Do they cost anything?

Date: 2009-02-01 09:50 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] marenpaisley.livejournal.com
Nope! They come in packs of four that you can pick up free at the grocery store or CVS. They're apparently a part of SOBE drink stands that may or not be near the drinks aisle of the store. Mom said they were near the check out at ShopRite...

This post (http://community.livejournal.com/chucktv/236487.html) from [livejournal.com profile] chucktv has a list of all the places where you can find them, too. :)

Aw crap, I just sent Brian out to go get beer, but I don't think he has his phone with him. :( Maybe I'll ask him to drop by tomorrow.

awww, did you guys end up finding any? Hey, you don't have any stores near you, like in walking distance or anything? I don't remember. Heck, I'd bring you some 3D glasses if I could stop time and drive out there. (Actually, how ridiculously cool would that be? :D).

Lol, don't worry - Brian says he's going to stop by Ralph's on his way home tomorrow, so we'll have glasses in time for Chuck. :D

I'm more of a college football fan than a pro fan, but I'm trying to watch the game to get into it more. I was rooting for the Cardinals because they're the underdog, and I usually love underdogs (unless the opposing team is the Red Wings or the Pistons XD) and Steve Breaston used to play for the University of Michigan, where I go to school. However, I just found out LaMarr Woodley, another Wolverine alum and used to play with Steve, plays for the Steelers. So ummm, confliction!

And according to one of my friends, six other people who graduated from here are in the game. ^_^

Hee! I guess I'm more rooting for the Steelers because of tradition (and my dad jokingly threatened to disown me if I didn't :D). Usually, though, I'm with you - I definitely love rooting for the underdogs, and if circumstances were different, I'd be totally behind Arizona.

Err... I'm not usually a football fan at all, but being in the house with all of these Steelers fans has gotten me excited, I guess. :)

How!!!! can people not like Chuck!? To my shame, I'm more excited for new Chuck than for new Heroes...

Agreed! I love Heroes and am looking forward to it, but when it comes to Chuck, I don't think there's a single episode that I haven't liked. It's just so much fun, all of the time, and I'm so excited! :D

And Casey! That's a great icon of him! Awww. :D
