* Even though MLS is over until next April, I still need a fix every now and again. Thankfully, I can get all of my soccer news from du Nord. Man, that site rocks. I'm not sure what I'd do without it, really. I suppose I'd have to install a wank-filter and get my news from Big Soccer. ::shudder::
* As an American, I would totally support a relegation system for soccer that would include the USL and PDL, especially after reading this great article from Yanks Abroad here. Besides, I still can't seem to wrap my brain around the home-away format that's going to be taking place now that we're going to have 13 teams in MLS. It's like having an odd number of students in a class when you've planned for partner work... except that you can't have a group of three teams play each other (and please, please, please, don't add another conference to the East and West - instead, you could give us a team in Philly to round things out!).
* I really, really enjoy listening to Inside Soccer on World Talk Radio. I don't even know what I'm wearing to work tomorrow, but by golly, I've downloaded last Saturday's show to listen to after I teach my last class. Granted, I generally skip over the European stuff unless it involves one of our Yanks abroad, but sometimes I keep on listening just to immerse myself in Brian Halliday's fascinating speech patterns. Look, another reason to move to San Diego! It's home to Inside Soccer! It really is paradise on Earth!
* Here's a thought: how about some more soccer on network TV? I don't want to (and can't afford to) pay a bazillion dollars for GolTV or even FSC. I don't even get home from work early enough to watch the Champions League matches on ESPN anymore. And, frankly, watching my little cousin play with her fellow U-7s just doesn't really cut it.
And that's all I've got for now. Boo.
ETA 12/2/2006: Thank you, ESPN2, for showing NCAA soccer games today! I at least got a chance to watch the UCLA-NCU women's game - yay!
