I think you're absolutely right! I was going to make a disparaging comment about the European Space Agency needing to find something better to do with their time until I read further down that NASA has already done a similar experiment! That means our tax dollars were spent on just as useless a project!
I love that we have a space program and are trying to gain knowledge about the universe, but I see no justification in these experiments. What are we going to do next? Measure our moon crater against the one the ESA is going to create? That's definitely a guy thing to do. ::sigh::
