Half a cup of coffee and my heart's already racing. Stupid caffeine... but this pumpkin spice coffee is just too good to say no!
I'd better never try hardcore drugs; I have no will-power to speak of.
I ended up taping Nova last night. I just couldn't force myself to stay awake any longer. Thank goodness for technology, I suppose.
I have the whole day left ahead of me, and I'm not sure what to do. Should I go shopping? The Strawbridges near us is closing... I'm just not much of a shopper, though, and I generally dislike going to the mall. It's probably crawling with high schoolers who had a half-day, anyway. There are things I'd like to buy, but nothing that I actually need to get today.
It's not warm enough to go hiking, but if I don't go out soon, I'm looking at an enforced indoors stay this weekend as we're expecting a hefty snow storm tomorrow night - something like ten inches of snow.
Ah, decisions, decisions. At least I'm going out to dinner. And there will be birthday cake to be had. I do love having my birthday in the middle of winter - it's something to look forward to, and it breaks up the dreariness of the season (not that this winter has been terrible, mind you). Besides, there's Valentine's Day left in February, St. Patrick's Day in March, and Easter this year is in April. Any excuse for a celebration, I say. :-D
And the US vs Japan match is tonight! And the Winter Olympic games are starting! Happiness!
I really ought to stop rambling and go do something. :-D
From this week's thefridayfive:
1.) Do you believe in God or a higher power?
Sometimes. Well, okay, most times, if only because I have a hard time believing that everything that happens is simply coincidence.
2.) Are good and evil just concepts, or real powers in the universe?
Just concepts. I absolutely cannot believe that good and evil are powers; that would make things too simple. They're cop-outs to understanding the underlying complexities of human nature.
3.) What is your view on forgiveness?
Um, it's a good thing? That holding grudges just poisons you... I've seen it happen way too often within my (extended) family, and it just makes people petty.
4.) Do organized religions do more harm than good?
It most definitely depends on the religion and the people involved. I don't see devout Buddhists participating in crusades or blowing up buildings, for instance. Let's just say that it's good for some people and dangerous for others.
5.) If you had a day to spend playing God, what would you do?
Wow, I have absolutely no idea. I'd probably end up doing something completely immoral that I'd end up regretting. Too much power for a mere human being to use wisely, I would think.

What Muppet are you?

Heh, one of the questions was about what kind of car you'd like to drive, and mine was on the list. If driving a Ford Escort makes me like Kermit, then I guess I'm not doing too badly. :-D
