Feb. 5th, 2006 10:10 amSo my parents are quietly going about their day, or so it seems on the outside. The truth is, they're huge Steelers fans, and my mother admitted to me yesterday that she didn't sleep well the night before because she's excited about the game. Not having lived through the 70s, I can only imagine what it must have been like to be Pittsburgh fans back then. I have a sneaking suspicion that it was their shared love for that football team that was one of the reasons my parents got together in college to begin with. :-D
Not being a football fan myself, I just look forward to the food. And I'll root for the Steelers (or "Stillers" as my Dad sometimes says when he lets his western PA accent slip through) so as not to rock the boat.
The real highlight of the upcoming week is Friday (which I've took off from work as a present to myself). I'll have the whole day to do whatever I want, and then I can watch the US National Team play Japan at 11pm EST on ESPN2. Happy Birthday to me, indeed!
On an unrelated note, since posting the link to the Battleship game the other day, I've attempted to play it a couple times a day... and I have yet to beat the pesky computer! I'm starting to get suspicious; the one I used to play in college seemed to be a lot more random in its searches - I'd win about half the games I'd set out to play. This one, though... well, I'm certainly not going to quit until I've given it another thorough go-around...
ETA: Ahahahahaha! Never mind; it can be done! :^D
