Hey there. So I watched the episode last night, but because I had to be up early today, I didn't have time to put my thoughts together after the show was over. Now I feel like I need to watch it again just to get the story straight in my head (heh, I should probably do that for every episode), but iTunes doesn't have it up in the store yet.
Anyway, here are
* It was great to see The Haitian. That guy is just so awesome, and it's cool that we're finally learning some more about his background outside of the graphic novels.
* Daphne's disability really surprised me while I was watching; I suppose if I were up on my television scenarios/cliches I wouldn't be, but Heroes is the only drama I watch.
* I loved seeing Nathan and Peter fighting and having Nathan be the hot-headed idiot for a change. Oh, Senator. I hope he hasn't started getting paid yet - I'd hate to be a taxpayer footing his paycheck for work never done. ; )
* I ... really don't get the Mohinder rebirth thing; probably it's meant to be deeper than what I took away from it. I kind of wanted him to suffer more for his actions, though. Having him lose his abilities and disfiguration so neatly seems like something of a cop-out, personally. I also don't like the idea of revisiting Maya's character: I liked how she actually had an ending to her storyline (and disappearing into the sunset, able to finally lead a normal life qualified for me) that didn't involve her dying just to placate the hordes of raving "fans" who don't have the brain cells to rub together to envision anything more creatively satisfying than a painful demise for a character. Lol, and if I just insulted you, too bad.
* I kind of don't remember the Sylar/Elle scenes clearly, though I did like it when HRG dislocated Sylar's shoulder, but that's just because I'm sick that way. >:) See, I like it for the characters I love to be abused, and then grow from the experience. Even if that means they go back to being psychotic/sociopathic madmen.
* And lastly, I have some thoughts based on SPOILERS, so read below only if you don't mind speculation based on promos and set pictures.

So I have mixed thoughts on the whole "someone you've come to know dies before the end of the season" thing. Based on a spoiler pic from over the weekend, it looks like that person is going to be Elle, and it saddens me because, once again, they're killing off a character for *~dramatic effect~*. I've had enough of that. People complained that "no one ever dies on Heroes", which is patently ridiculous since in Season 1 alone we lost Isaac, Simone, Kaito Nakamura, and Eden. We've also lost D.L., Niki, Bob, Adam, and Maury Parkman, each of whom had large roles to play in Season 2, plus whomever else I've no doubt forgotten.
Well, I'm sick of it. seraphtrevs and I have talked a lot about "fridging" characters (I term I'd never heard of before she pointed it out to me. Thank you, wikipedia). It's just plain laziness on the part of the writers. If you have to write away a character, you don't have to kill them off, ffs. I get it that Monica is taking care of Micah somewhere in New Orleans. That's fine - great, even. They'll have a chance to come back someday or just fade into our memories (although now I have this vision that Monica and Micah are in the middle of a vigilante crime-fighting spree when the eclipse happens - oh noes!). I guess it's the wasted potential and unsubtle attempt at evoking a reaction from the audience that gets to me.
Also, I'd like to say that I'm wrong, but Daphne is SO doomed. Why else does Matt go to the dark side like Greg Grunberg has said? Sigh.
Also: Matt, who's feeding your tortoise?! I swear, no one on Heroes should be allowed to keep pets. Mr. Muggles gets a pass because I can only assume that Lyle takes care of him while everyone else is off saving the world.
