Okay, missing today were HRG, Sandra, and the Haitian.
Matt & Daphne: Yeah, the romance could be seen as being rushed, but I'm still wondering about how much time is meant to have taken place between the scenes that we're shown.
Question: why did Matt see Usutu in Angela's dream? I take it that he's really dead... or maybe he was never really in Africa in the first place. I mean, the guy always wore the same clothes, looked very well-kempt for someone living all alone in the desert, and now his ability may have extended beyond that of seeing the future.
Mohinder: Mohinder with a conscience was definitely a welcome return. The scales are progressing, though. Ick! I wonder if we'll have any more Mohinder/Sylar scenes this volume. It'd be interesting to see what Sylar thinks about Mohinder's transformation.
And that poor homeless man from last episode who got bugified! Oh, man. His strangely spindly fingers creeped me right out. Good thing he was put out of his misery.
Claire & Peter: Peter was surprisingly non-faily! Good for you, Peter! And Claire was compelling, too. Color me impressed!
Tracy & Nathan: Nathan was looking nicely suave and conflicted once more. Kudos for allowing him to use his ability for some added flair.
Now Tracy. I love how she's so cut-throat. Her scenes gave me this face: >:)
Elle & Sylar: Um. I'm going to have to get back to you on this. Too busy trying to pick my jaw off the floor. I take back anything I thought before about the viability of their relationship because this was so utterly incredible to watch. And, lol, how many times did Sylar get electrocuted? I know that it's too much to hope that they start out being friends before becoming 'involved' (this is Heroes, after all), but that's what fanfic is for, right?
Also, I'm just going to be completely honest and say that I was distracted by how hot both actors are. Damn. I might have to download this episode from iTunes... not sure I can hold out until the summer dvd release.
Angela & Arthur: Two warring sides. It was interesting to see Arthur get a bit nostalgic about the love he once felt for his wife, and I liked the actor's performance much better tonight. I still wonder how astrally-projected!Arthur was able to go to Africa to steal Hiro's memory (and yet, didn't take his ability. Oh, Arthur. You're something of a Scooby Doo villain, aren't you). Obviously, it's a unique ability that he has obtained and just goes to further show how powerful Arthur is.
Hiro & Ando: This was the first time in a while that I really enjoyed their story. It was nice to see Ando be the person with the answers for a change.
I wonder how long it will take to get the episode up on hulu or nbc.com. It definitely bears re-watching. I'm sure there was a lot that I missed the first time around. All in all, though, I enjoyed this episode immensely.
One caveat that I have to get out there before next week: I'm going to definitely have to suspend my disbelief for the 'eclipse' development and remind myself that this show is based on comic book science and not real science, despite the strong genetics-based premise (however inaccurate it was) from the first season. For some reason I could accept that a person's genes would allow them to become mind readers or defy physics, but I have a harder time swallowing the idea that the orbit of the moon in relation to the sun would somehow have any sort of influence on the expression of said genes. Lol, clearly, I have to get back in the habit of reading comics!
